In these past few months the world has suffered so much devastation, so much pain, and so much loss. And just as one catastrophe seems to end, another takes its place.
This world has become such a scary place, and we may find ourselves asking “why God, why”… “where are you Lord?”…”how can you let all this continue to happen?” We are scared, exhausted, and fearful; these are human emotions and God doesn’t condemn us for our feelings, nor does it mean our Faith is weak.
We live in the “world” and the world is messed up. There are no logical answers to these questions, at least not ones we can humanely understand. But the most important thing to remember, is God doesn’t bring or make these things happen, it’s the people who make free will choices and the imperfections of the planet we live on. I know it’s hard “not” to ask all the why’s, and to not to feel helpless and afraid, but we have our Faith to hold onto, our hearts to offer prayers, and the trust that comes with believing in a God who will restore what’s lost, bring comfort and healing to all those suffering, and walk with each person through the tragedy they are enduring.
Let’s pray together for those in Las Vegas, and continue to keep all the other victims that have suffered so much loss over the past few months…and pray for more love and compassion to enter our hearts and spread love over the hate that is out of control. (SueMarieGerard)
